It isn’t everyday that you get to hoon around the desert in X-raid’s Dakar-winning Mini Countryman – unless of course you are Jay Leno, and then it might be an everyday occurrence.
In the latest edition of Jay Leno’s Garage, rally driver Nani Roma took Leno and the All4 Racing Countryman on a wild ride through the dunes. X-raid cars have won the Dakar for the past three years, which is no coincidence. Under the unassuming Countryman shell is spaceframe body, long-travel suspension, and a 3.0L diesel monster.
