Being the smallest four-seater car does not sound like something to brag about to us, but luckily the Fomm Concept One has a better feature to boast. Nicknamed the "water-world spaceship," the Japanese electric car can float and move on water. That makes it especially valuable in the aftermath of a tsunami or major flood.
Hideo Tsurumaki, the president of Fomm, wanted to design a car for disaster relief after seeing tsunamis devastate his hometown. The result is an eight-foot long car that uses a water-jet generator to propel itself through the water. It's only made for one disaster, so it requires maintenance after each use. But with such a low cost at $9,000. there shouldn't be too many complaints.
