McLaren’s Entry Level Car Will Cost About $160,000

Unfortunately for most of us, this is as cheap as it's going to get.

Next year, McLaren is going to release its cheapest car yet. Of course, "cheap" for a McLaren is  two thirds of what a 12C would cost you today" according to communications chief Wayne Bruce (Yes, that is his real name). This means that the car codenamed P13 will run a buyer around $160,000, which isn't exactly affordable.

What the P13 will be, however, is fast. A 450-500 hp version of McLaren's existing 3.8L turbocharged V8 will do the pushing, and it should be competitive with the Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Audi R8 V10 Plus. Aesthetically, it will probably feature a lot of the same design cues that McLaren has been using recently, so it will most likely be similar to the 650S (pictured). The debut will happen sometime in 2015, and if we had to hazard a guess, we'd say we'll first see it in Geneva.
