Colorado Man Has His Car Towed With a Sleeping 1-Year-Old Boy Inside of It (Video)

D'oh!

Last Saturday night, 36-year-old Thomas Benton parked his car on a street in Denver, Colo. so that he could drop his friend off at his grandmother's house. He then got out of the car, locked it up, and ran inside of the home for what he says was about 10 minutes. But when he came back outside, his car was gone.

That wasn't the worst part, though. Eventually, Benton called police and found out that he had parked his car illegally and that it had been towed. But what was really bad was that when he had run into the house, he had left a sleeping 1-year-old boy in the backseat of the car. And that boy was still inside of it when it was towed.

Fortunately, police were able to track the towed car down shortly after it went missing and found the boy still sound asleep in the back of it. He was later placed in the care of Benton's grandmother. But because he left the child unattended in the car, Benton was arrested and charged with "wrongs to minors." And deservedly so. What he did was irresponsible, unsafe, and above all else, stupid.
