Once upon a time, it was entirely possible for a superior athlete like Bo Jackson to play both football and baseball. So during his early days, Jackson played in the NFL and MLB. But today, that's much more difficult to do. So during a recent interview, Jackson said someone like Russell Wilson—who has spent time playing with the Texas Rangers this offseason—should stick to doing what he does best rather than trying to excel in two sports.

"Stick to what got him in the headlines, not baseball," he said. "Twenty-five or 30 years ago when I did it, I'm not trying to say anything negative about other athletes, but the talent pool wasn't that deep. Stick to whatever sport you're comfortable with and let everything else go…If you try to do both, you're going to be riding the bench in both. You'll never get to that level that you want to get to if you split your time between multiple sports."

To be fair, we don't think Wilson has any serious aspirations of playing pro baseball right now. But it's still interesting to hear Jackson say that he doesn't think guys like Wilson should pursue a second sport.
