Nokian is from Finland, and invented the winter tire. When it comes to driving on snow and ice, they're legit, and we're sure the Hakkapeliitta tires have prevented many accidents over the years. Winter tires are important for anyone who drives in cold weather, and we're pretty sure that the Fins get at least 15 months of winter per year.

The biog problem with winter tires, however, is that studded winter tires are way better on snow and ice, but absolutely tear up asphalt roads. Nokian has now developed a tire that deploys its retractable studs when the driver pushes a button. Very cool.

We just want to know how it works, and how well it continues to work when the tire begins to wear down.
