25 years ago, Mazda decided to make a European roadster. The reason the Mazda took off is quite simple; it worked. When a Lotus Elan or Alfa Romeo Spyder wasn't starting on account of electrical issues, Miata owners were cruising along mountain roads in their cars.

Over those years the MX-5 Miata became a classic, and the center of a massive enthusiast scene. Tuners love the very capable chassis, autocrossers love the nimble handling, and aspiring racers love the SCCA Spec series.

We're happy the Miata has been around for these years, and we can't wait to see the next gen car, and the Alfa Romeo based on it.
