Wait a second, is the NBA Slam Dunk Contest actually going to be worth watching this year?!

It appears as though it is. There's been no official word yet about who will be participating in the Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend later this month. But according to a report out of Portland, Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has accepted an offer to participate in the contest this year. And while Lillard isn't really known for throwing down too many dunks during games, he's more than capable of getting fans up out of their seats with his dunking abilities. Just check out this dunk that he threw down recently:

There are a handful of other players who are reportedly mulling over the idea of participating in the Dunk Contest, too. John Wall is in the running for one of the slots. Defending champion Terrence Ross is expected to take part in the Dunk Contest again. And Paul George might also be in the mix.

The league is expected to announce the Dunk Contest field later today. So stay tuned.
