The road just got a little bit more tough for the Denver Broncos. Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker is expected to miss the rest of the NFL regular season as he recovers from two concussions that he suffered in a span of three weeks.

The Broncos are hoping, wishing, and praying that Welker will recover in time to play in the postseason. The veteran receiver continues to be evaluated by the team's medical staff and an independent doctor as part of the league's concussion protocol.

A third concussion in such a short span could end Welker's season, so the Broncos need to take extreme precautions when bringing him back into the fold. The Broncos can earn a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with victories over the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders. With a 11-3 record the Broncos need to finish the job with these two wins.
