When Robinson Cano agreed to a 10-year, $240 million deal with the Mariners last Friday, there were a number of controversies that broke out almost immediately. One involved Cano's Roc Nation Sports agent Jay Z. Another involved the length of the contract that Seattle gave to Cano. And the last one—which was arguably the biggest controversy when it was all said and done—involved the number that Cano was going to wear with the Mariners. Because Cano wore No. 24 with the Yankees, there were a lot of people who assumed he would try to wear No. 24 with Seattle, too. But No. 24 used to be Ken Griffey Jr.'s jersey number in Seattle. And, well, CANO ISN'T KEN GRIFFEY JR. SO HE SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO WEAR THAT NUMBER! That seemed to be the consensus anyway.

Don't worry, though, Griffey fans. As it turns out, Cano will not wear No. 24. Instead, he'll wear:

That's right, No. 22. Controversy over.
