McLaren promised a sub seven minute lap of the Nurburgring's Nordschleife, and that has now been delivered, mostly. The actual time and full video hasn't been released, but we are to take these English gentlefolk at their word when they say, "yes, of course [we did it]."

Annoying tease aside, this video is astounding. The P1 doesn't sound like anything else; it roars, it burbles, it whines, it pops, it whooshes, it makes strange venting noises, it clicks, and it seems to make every mechanical noise all at the same time. The result is that it doesn't just look like a spaceship-car from the year 2144, but it sounds like one too. Just watching this video is a seemingly visceral experience.
