This story is both bizarre and sad.

Yesterday afternoon, a 39-year-old woman named Anastasia Gordeeva drove a Chevrolet Cruze with Texas license plates onto a sidewalk in Denver, lit the car on fire, and then stood by and watched it burn. Police still aren't 100 percent sure why she did it. But she does provide some clues in the clip above, which features her speaking to witnesses of the crime about how she is a domestic violence victim living on the streets. She also speaks about how she has gone to the police on numerous occasions in the past and received no help from them. So it almost seems as if her lighting a car on fire in the middle of Denver was a cry for help. It's clear that she didn't do it maliciously because, as you can see in the video, she waits for police to come to the scene and then willingly surrenders to them and is placed under arrest.

Regardless of why she lit the car on fire, though, Gordeeva is now in big trouble. She was charged with second-degree arson for setting the car on fire. Fortunately, no one was hurt as a result of the blaze. But because she openly admitted to starting it in the video, we suspect she's going to spend some time in jail for her role in the fire. See? Bizarre and sad. Watch it all play out in the clip above.
