On Sunday afternoon, Ed Reed will play his first game at MetLife Stadium as a member of the New York Jets. And he's already got a complaint about it. It seems that Reed was under the impression that Fireman Ed—the Jets' unofficial mascot—would be in the building for the Jets' game against the Dolphins

"That guy with the hard hat on, is he still here?" Reed asked reporters yesterday. "What's his name, Fireman Ed? I need him getting the whole stadium crunked."

But, of course, Fireman Ed hung up his hard hat after the Jets' tumultuous 2012-13 NFL season. So he will not be in attendance at the game on Sunday. It sounds like Reed wants to try and change that, though.

"He retired?" he asked. "I can't believe it. We need to bring him out of retirement."

We highly doubt that that's going to happen. After Mark Sanchez's infamous "Butt Fumble" last Thanksgiving, Fireman Ed left the Jets/Patriots game and said that he was finished with the team. But if there's anyone who can bring him back, it's Ed Reed, right? He would be crazy to say no to Ed Reed! So we'll have to see if he manages to work his way back onto the sidelines on Sunday.
