Canelo Alvarez has been fighting professionally since he was 15 years old and became the youngest super-welterweight world champion in history in 2011. He still wasn't good enough to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Alvarez (42-1-1) is over a decade younger than Mayweather Jr. (45-0), reportedly came into the fight weighing 15 pounds more and got a little testy at times—hitting him with a shoulder bump and trading verbal jabs with the champion. Alvarez took the biggest jab at the end of the fight: a mark on the loss column. The Mexican fighter lost his first bout as Mayweather remained undefeated.

Mayweather's victory wasn't surprising, but the night's main surprise came from the fact he won by majority decision. One judge scored the fight a draw while the other two scored it 116-112 and 117-111.

The judge who scored the bout a draw was none other than C.J. Ross, who was the same one who controversially scored the Timothy Bradley/Manny Pacquiao fight 115-113 in favor of the former to help give him a split decision win. Even Bradley didn't think he won, and Alvarez admitted he was fairly beat in the post-fight interview. "I didn't know how to get him," he said. "We were trying to catch him."

Regardless, Mayweather still showed he was one of the greatest ever. What's next for the Money Team?
