A BMW Driver Crashes Into a Railroad Crossing in a Bizarre Accident (Video)

Here in the United States, we don't really have railroad crossings like the one in the video above. We've got the blinking lights and the bar that comes down to tell drivers not to drive over the railroad tracks. But we don't have the raised platform that's designed to stop cars from driving into an oncoming train. And after watching this video, we think that it's a good thing we don't.

Recently, the driver of the BMW that's featured in this clip was driving overseas when he came to a railroad crossing. He stopped, waited for the train to pass, and then attempted to drive over the train tracks. The only problem? The raised platform never went down. So he drove his BMW straight into it and destroyed the entire front end.

It's one of the silliest low-speed crashes that we've ever seen, and it was totally avoidable. Just take a look for yourself. How painful is that?
