BMW & Mini Are Planning 23 Models on One Platform

The platform that underpins the entire Mini line up and the new, front wheel drive 1-Series, is going to be stretched even further. BMW and Mini are going to up the number of cars made on this platform all the way up to 23. Some of the weirder en route models are the Mini Saloon (British for Sedan), The Mini Traveller (a Countryman with slightly smaller rear doors), and the sad fact that a front wheel drive BMW roadster is going to be a thing. 

The goal: to sell 1,000,000 cars on a single platform.

And here we were thinking that Mini needed to tone things down a bit, what with the rather bizarre coupe that is one of the later offerings.
