We've heard rumors of a supercharged Scion FR-S, which pleases us, but now we're hearing rumors of a high performance hybrid, which perplexes and confuses us. The whole point of the FR-S is that it is lightweight and simple. Hybridizing it would only make it heavier and more complicated. Even if it did make it faster, it would ruin the beloved feel of the car. Why not put some stiff Recaros and a five point harness into a stripped out Rolls-Royce Phantom while we're at it?

Toyota says that a hybrid system would have to come along with weight reduction and aero upgrades. We're still skeptical.
