The Chevrolet Camaro that you see in the photo above is fast. Well, check that. It used to be fast. In fact, up until a few days ago, it was the fastest Camaro in the world, clocking in at 263.2 mph at the semi-annual Texas Mile event in Beeville, TX late last year. But, as you can see, it's only as fast as the tow truck that it's resting on now.
Over the weekend, the Camaro was once again at the Texas Mile trying to improve on its' previous speed record. But, towards the end of a one-mile run, driver Joey Honeycutt lost control of the 2,800-horsepower car at about 220 mph, flipped it a number of times, and completely destroyed the ride. Miraculously, Honeycutt wasn't killed in the crash and seems to have avoided any serious injuries. But, unfortunately, we can't say the same for the Camaro.
