It sounds like there may be a silver lining to the tragedy involving Jovan Belcher and Kasandra Perkins. According to NFL insider Peter King, at least seven NFL players have voluntarily decided to get rid of firearms that they previously kept inside their homes in the wake of what happened to Belcher and Perkins earlier this month.

"In the last seven days, at least seven players around the league have gone to their league security officers to turn in the firearms that they possessed at their homes," King said on NBC's Football Night in America last night. "I'm also told that one of these players who had multiple firearms told the security officer, 'I don't trust myself with these guns in the house, please take them away.'"

It's a shame that it took a situation like the one involving Belcher and Perkins to force players to take these steps. But, at least something positive is coming out of the terrible tragedy.
