A College Basketball Coach Was Suspended for Three Games and Fined $50,000 for Throwing Basketballs at Players' Heads During Practices

Really?!

We've seen some pretty crazy college basketball coaches over the years. Some yell. Others curse. There have even been a few physical altercations that have taken place between coaches and players. But, Rutgers head coach Mike Rice was just suspended for three games without pay and fined $50,000 for doing something pretty ridiculous that we'd never heard about happening before.

According to anonymous sources, Rice was suspended and fined because he—get this—used to throw basketballs at some players' heads during practices in his first and second years with the team. Rice has also come under fire in recent years for cursing frequently during games and for losing his temper on the sidelines. But, this is the first time he's been seriously reprimanded by the school. Hopefully, this will get him to chill out a little bit.
