The thing that makes the Mercedes G-Wagen so cool is the fact that it, since 1979 when it was introduced, hasn't lost its bad-ass military appearance. It's like a Land Rover Defender for people who don't like having to repair their cars all the time.

That's my Mercedes needed to be very careful in redesigning this classic. Luckily for us, the Ener-G-Force Concept looks good, if a little cartoonish. We think that if this is destined to be a production model, it will actually look a lot better as soon as it gets toned down for the real world.

What's most interesting is that the Ener-G-Force is presented with a hydrogen fuel system. Mercedes says that the car emits only water and has a range of 500 miles. The car can even collect water using the roof's tank and catcher and convert it into fuel using "natural and renewable energy sources."
