A University of Buffalo study recently found that obese people are at a 21% greater risk of death in a major car accident than normal weight individuals, and morbidly obese people are at a 56% greater risk. Also, under-weight individuals are at a slightly higher risk and slightly over weight people are at a slightly reduced risk. "More cushion for the pushin'" just took on a whole new meaning.

The article on the University of Buffalo's website then goes on to say that auto manufacturers need to modify their designs to protect the growing obese population. The article never recommends that people lose weight... just sayin'.
