Ford Spending $1.3 Billion on Mexico Plant

Ford is preparing to inject $1.3 billion into its Hermosillo stamping and assembly plant in Mexico in order to expand upon production for the revamped 2013 Ford Fusion and 2013 Lincoln MKZ.  According to Mark Fields, Ford's president for the Americas, the investment is to help meet increasing consumer demand and will create about 1,000 new jobs. The company has already spent about $3 billion on the plant over the past decade.
