The former Sawks closer ethered Boston fans Thursday in an interview with a Philadelphia radio station. When asked to compare Boston's fan base with his current one in Philly, JonathanPapelbon said that Phillies fans "tend to know the game a little better" and that Boston fans were "a little bit more hysterical when it comes to the game of baseball."

This offseason, Papelbon was reportedly bent that Boston wasn't more aggressive in signing him during free agency, so instead he penned a four-year, $50 million dollar deal with the Phillies.

"It was a situation where the Red Sox didn't really come at me the way I was expecting them to come at me in the offseason," Papelbon said during the interview. "And I told my agent that the first team that shows me interest and shows me loyalty, I'm going to show that right back to them, and that was Philadelphia."
