2012 Shelby 1000 Has Not Quite 1000 Horsepower

Because the 650hp 2013 Shelby GT500 wasn't bat-shit-crazy enough, apparently, Shelby has made the Shelby 1000, which makes 950hp in its road-legal form and 1,100hp in track-only guise. In order to cope with all the power in the apocalypse, aerodynamics and and handling have been upgraded as well. 

If the Bugatti Veyron wore plaid shirts and drank beer it would be this car.

If you have a donor GT500 sitting around as well as $149,995, this monster can be yours. That's right, it's a Mustang that costs rougly $200,000.

We think calling it the "1000" is a wee bit deceiving though. Couldn't they call it the 950? Or something with the word "snake" in it?
