For all of the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. supporters out there, this one's for you. Yesterday, we asked you guys if the Mayweather knockout was a cheap shot, and a majority of the voters said "yes." Well, for those of you that felt bad for Victor Ortiz, how would you feel if we told you that Ortiz once pulled that same cheap shot on another fighter but didn't manage to get away with it?
During a fight with Corey Alarcon on June 3, 2005, the referee tried to break up a clinch and just as Alarcon was pulled off, Ortiz threw an uppercut that knocked dude out cold on the mat. But unlike this past Saturday's match, the ref saw everything unfold and promptly disqualified Ortiz for -- ready for it -- a cheap shot. Now...we're not trying to read too much into it but can you say poetic justice? [via Boxden]
