MV had his sights set on a much different destination back in 2009.

If things go according to plan, there's a good chance Michael Vick will be leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2011-12 NFL season. The irony in that? MV recently admitted that he wasn't exactly thrilled when he first signed a deal to play in the City of Brotherly Love. Vick made the revelation during an interview that appears in the September 2011 of GQ.

"I think I can say this now, because it's not going to hurt anybody's feelings and it's the truth," Vick says. "I didn't want to come to Philadelphia. Being the third-team quarterback is nothing to smile about. Cincinnati and Buffalo were better options."

In fact, Vick was in serious talks to sign with either the Bengals or Bills but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and other NFL reps eventually steered him clear of both of those situations. "And I commend and thank them," he says, "because they put me in the right situation."

The rest of the NFL East must be thrilled to hear that. [via Deadspin]
