What a difference a week makes. Last Monday, the L.A. Lakers were at home and up 16 points on the Dallas Mavericks in the second half of Game 1 of their 2nd round playoff series. They were also the two-time defending champs. This Monday, the Lakers are also at home, but out of the playoffs, having blown that Game 1 lead, and absolutely laid down to the Mavs in a sweep that culminated yesterday with and embarassing 36-point loss. They're technically still the two-time defending champs, but don't call them that unless you're looking for a laugh.

Last month, we did a list of the 25 Biggest Fails in NBA Playoff History, and the 2008 Lakers were No. 1 on that list for their collapse in Game 4 of the Finals that year. (Side note: epic editor fail for typing the words "Kobe Bryant" and "greatest of all time" in the same sentence.) But at least those Lakers made the Finals. This group? Well, judge for yourself: Are the 2011 Lakers the Biggest Fail in NBA Playoff History? And feel free to let that JackE guy have it in your comments below.
