The Nike Air Force 1 is one of the shoes that helped form sneaker culture since it was first released 1982, and it's continually been a favorite of footwear connoisseurs across the globe. The model's long-running tenure has allowed it to be released in nearly every flavor under the sun, with some of the pairs achieving legendary status amongst collectors. To commemorate the Air Force 1's legacy, Stadium Goods has partnered with Nike to offer up 100 different pairs of the sneaker at ComplexCon for $89.95 a piece.
Some of the most Holy Grail Air Force 1s of all-time will be at the event, which runs from November 5-6 in Long Beach, California. The pairs designed by graffiti artist Stash, the limited-edition version for Jay Z's The Black Album, impossible-to-get "Playstations," and even the "Linens," "Entourages," and "Taiwans" will be sold.
Stadium Goods has searched high and low to find these sneakers, and it's impressive to get such an expansive collection in one place. "Some of these shoes are the ultimate grails," says Stadium Goods co-founder John McPheters. "We even got the 'Taiwans,' which were super hard to find a pair in good condition because most pairs had cracked on the patent leather or came with yellowed soles. But I think we got a good pair."
Beyond just finding the shoes, it was even tougher to get people to sell their pairs. "There's an interesting subculture of Air Force 1 collectors, and it's different than other pockets of sneaker culture," McPheters says. "If someone has had these sneakers for 15 years, they're not going to want to just give them up."
But Stadium Goods has been able to find, well, the goods, and they're bringing them to the attendees of ComplexCon. Working with Nike was also big for the consignment shop, which is looking to clean up the world of reselling, says McPheters.
Stadium Goods has confirmed that there will also be the Mr. Cartoon collaboration, the "Camo" collaboration from Supreme, Michael Laus, the Year of the Dog Quickstrike, Mitas, Acorns, Bobbitos, Tiscis, Questloves, Sheeds, and more.
Anyone who loves sneakers, especially Air Force 1s, isn't going to want to miss out on this chance to get these Grails for the price they're being sold at.
