With all the fuss over sneaker resellers these days, it can be easy to forget that the real reselling begins long before a pair of kicks pops up on eBay.
In order to make sense of the unfounded rumors and random numbers that get thrown around regarding sneaker production, Sole Review decided to do some investigating and find out what it really costs brands to make a pair of sneakers.
Using factors like a shoes' 'FOB'—short for free, or freight, on board, which is how much a brand pays to have it shipped from its country of origin—cost, the price of materials, and labor and overheard costs, Sole Review has been able to give us a better idea of exactly how much brands are taxing 'heads at the register.
Although this break down focuses primarily on running shoes, Sole Review also added a few other sneakers for comparison, including the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 and D Rose 6. It also took a look at how much retailers profit from a pair of sneakers, which you'll see down below.
