A pair of nice sneakers and mold definitely don't make for a pleasant combination. Just yesterday we reported that Danish sneakerhead @peterfalktoft discovered that tragic combination on his pair of "Oxford Tan" adidas Yeezy Boost 350s and now another sneakerhead is facing an arguably worse circumstance.

Reddit user Not1ToSayAtoadaso shared pictures of his "White Cement" Air Jordan IVs covered in mold. You might assume that they were a 1999 pair that's been in storage for quiet some time, but no. His pair of recently released White Cement" IVs had been worn and then put away in the box for only one week. Yes, just one week. After smelling something rancid, he discovered mold that ironically matched the sneakers — black mold on the sides and laces, white mold on the toe cap, and red mold on the tongue.

Many people believe that simply wearing your sneakers can help avoid mold, but realistically the average collector can't wear every pair they own all the time. Go check all the sneakers you haven't worn as recent as this week and make sure your entire collection is stored in a dry and cool environment.
