There is perhaps no sneaker more iconic than a Converse Chuck Taylor All Star. For decades, they have been a footwear staple for generation after generation. But even a perpetual favorite wants to shake things up once in a while, and the new Chuck Taylor All Star II Knit sneakers were designed for those looking to invigorate their creative passions, and get out in the world in search of adventure.

One such adventure Converse recently commissioned was sending acclaimed photographer Tim McGurr—a.k.a. 13th Witness—on an excursion to India to take in all the sights, sounds, culture, and beauty that the country had to offer. From the kinetic, chaotic streets of Mumbai to the stunning altitudes of Kashmir—with a stop in Delhi and the Agra region for good measure—13th Witness captured more than 20,000 photographs and traveled almost 18,000 miles, all while wearing his trusty Chuck IIs. These kicks are the perfect fit for continuous exploration, with new knit material that compliments existing innovative features like Lunarlon insole cushioning, a padded non-slip tongue, and super soft micro-suede lining.

The resulting work of the trip is pretty stunning, and you can check it out in the video above. Directed by Jason Goldwatch, who’s known for creating some pretty dope music videos for artists like Jay Z and Kid Cudi, the video shows 13th Witness and his crew engaged in a wide range of fascinating activities in an incredibly diverse amount of environments, all while interacting with India’s welcoming citizens. And while 13th Witness has already worked with some of the world’s top musicians, athletes, artists, and fashion icons, needless to say, this was his most uniquely interesting adventure to date.
