Violence has struck the sneaker community once again, after reports that a 14-year-old was beaten and robbed for his Air Jordan sneakers in Spokane, WA over the weekend. According to the Spokesman-Review, the victim was playing basketball at Chief Garry Park on Saturday morning when a group approached and used violent force to get the sneakers.

The victim reported that he was punched in the face and that one of the people involved recorded the altercation on his mobile phone. In addition to the punch, the victim also claims that he was threatened by another member of the group who was holding a sledgehammer. "The victim told police that the juvenile male holding the sledgehammer said he was “going to kill them all," reports the Spokesman-Review. Three suspects have been arrested including two minors and 19-year-old Tyler M. Packwood. All of this allegedly went down over a size seven pair of Air Jordans that retails for $85. Regardless of the price, no sneaker is ever worth violence.
