DeMarcus Cousins has had his fair share of trouble during his young career in the NBA, but nobody can deny how good he is on the court. Additionally, nobody can deny his commitment to helping the community, either. Cousins recently took 200 underpriveled children from his hometown of Mobile, Ala. and his current city of Sacramento on a holiday shopping spree for sneakers and toys.

The shopping spree included giving kids gift cards to Footlocker and also buying them video games and toys. Cousins explained why giving back during the holidays means so much to him. "I grew up in these kid's shoes. Not as fortunate. Didn't have the best Christmas. Just being able to get these kids clothes, shoes, whatever the case may be. Just something that they, you know, that they want for Christmas. Grant that wish to them. Being able to put a smile on that kid's face, or family's face, is more than enough for me," said Cousins. Additionally, Cousins teamed up with Chase Chevrolet to give a local family a brand new car. Just being able to meet this NBA star would have been enough joy for most kids, but props to him for going above and beyond to bring joy to them.
