A little over a month ago, we previewed Puma's entry into the race for power-lacing sneakers, and now it looks like the brand is one step closer to making it a reality as it's just officially unveiled the first sneaker to use technology, the Autodisc.

Building off of Puma's pre-existing Disc tech, Autodisc is actually a completely laceless setup that fastens with the touch of a button. The first Autodisc sneaker, pictured below, is constructed with synthetics, mesh, and foam and is recharged with a USB cord, but Highsnobiety notes that the retail version won't require a USB connection.

Although details are sparse, we can confirm that a release is in the works for 2016, which means that Puma might actually release its version before the Nike Mag. That remains to be seen, but for now, check out a clip of sprinter Usain Bolt testing out the tech for himself and scroll down for a complete look.
