Nike is no stranger to upgrading some of its most classic models, and now its first track shoe is getting another remake. Debuting in 1972, the Nike Cortez's popularity eventually transitioned from the track to the streets, and is still regularly worn today. The latest upgrade to this model comes in the lightweight "Ultra BR" version.

This updated model keeps the recognizable silhouette and a similar foam mid-sole, but replaces the traditonal upper with a more lightweight and breathable one. This comes after Nike released Roshe and Big Tooth Cortez models earlier this year. There is always going to be mixed feelings about making changes to classics, but this sneaker does a good job of keeping the overall look while still improving its technology.
