For the most part, Converse likes to keeps its distance from parent company Nike, but anyone in the know will tell you they've quietly been sharing ideas for years. Look no further than the highly publicized Chuck Taylor All-Star sequel, which gets its defining upgrade from Nike's Lunarlon cushioning.

Now, the Chuck Taylor II will embrace the update with a colorway inspired by the cushy technology. Lunarlon is often associated with Nike's attention-grabbing volt color and it appears here to "complement to the four original colors unveiled at launch" as stated in the press release. Although the Chuck is best known for its understated, easily wearable look, we're definitely not mad at these.

Available in both high ($75) and low top ($70) silhouettes, this limited "Volt" Chuck II will be available on Friday, September 18 from select retailers as well as Converse online.
