Running to an old friend is almost surely a good thing and in Martha's Vineyard, that's exactly what happened when Ray Allen and Spike Lee's paths crossed once again.

On a sunny Sunday morning, Ray Allen and Spike Lee had a chance meeting and wound up getting breakfast together. For those unaware, Allen starred in Spike's 1998 film, He Got Game, as the now famous character, Jesus Shuttlesworth. Allen, who was wearing a Marvin the Martian shirt — a graphic which was inspired by Spike's infamous Mars Blackmon character — from Jordan Brand's recent collection, would go on to comment, "There are no coincidences in life. We are always where we are supposed to be in life. Good or bad we are one decision away from putting ourselves in the next good or bad situation," followed by the hashtag #hegotgame2.

In a YouTube video of a clip from the show His and Hers, Spike confirms that he and Allen are both onboard to do the film so could this chance meeting lead to a renewed focus on getting the He Got Game sequel started?

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
