Few American cities have seen a rise and fall quite like Detroit, which officially filed for bankruptcy in 2013. The city is looking to crawl its way back since then, and part of that plan is to open desirable retail stores. One of the brands that could find its way to the Motor City is Nike, according to Fathead CEO Patrick McInnis.

McInnis, who runs his company out of Detroit, was speaking about growth in city, as noted by Michigan Live, and mentioned how certain brands will start to open retail locations in Detroit. According to the article, "McInnis said 'high-end retail' has come or is coming soon to Detroit, including Moosejaw, Under Armour, designer John Varvatos and Nike."

After McInnis mentioned Nike, he said, "I'm not supposed to say that, I don't think."

Nike has yet to respond to this statement, but it's a strong sign that Detroit could be on the comeback trail.
