Air Jordan 1s releases have been amongst the most anticipated drops of the year and the upcoming "Shattered Backboard" edition is no different.
As mentioned on Foot Locker's release calendar, the Shattered Backboards are slated to hit both Foot Locker online and select retail locations beginning this Saturday, June 27. For those not familiar with the inspiration behind the shoe's name and colorway stems from a 1985 Nike exhibition game played in Italy in which Michael Jordan shattered the backboard while completing one of his signature dunks. A graphic print on the shoes insoles further communicates the story and video of MJ's dunk can be seen in the YouTube vid below:
The shoe carries an official colorway of "Black/Starfish/Sail" along with a retail price of $160. While the release appears to be quite accessible, be rest assured that these will not be an easy cop.
