Of all the innovative and forward-thinking Nike designs of years past, the Air Rift may very well be the most unique of them all, and now it's back in O.G. form.

Inspired by the barefoot style of Kenya's distance runners, the Nike Air Rift was designed to mimic their striking pattern. Its Kenyan influence doesn't end there, though, as the name is actually taken from the country's Rift Valley. Furthermore, one of the O.G. colorways took its palette directly from the Kenya flag, while the sneaker's split toe was inspired by the Great Rift Valley fault line.

After a string of NikeLab exclusive releases, the Swoosh has readied two O.G. colorways of the Air Rift along with a new black-based men's colorway and white-based women's offering. All of the model's signature design cues are here: the decoupled toe, tongueless design, and forefoot support strap will make you feel like it's 1996 all over again.

Look out for the O.G.s on April 27, while the two new colorways will touch down on May 15.
