UPDATE (5:00 p.m.):
A representative from Givenchy has reached out and confirmed that these are indeed fake. Now that's a sigh of relief.
In recent years, we've seen a number of high end sneakers inspired by Nike classic silhouettes, whether it be the Air Force 1, Air Jordan IV, or even something more unusual like the Air Rift. Now, Givenchy is throwing its hat in with a luxe twist on a more modern style.
Recently previewed on Instagram, these Givenchy low tops seem to take direct inspiration from the Nike Roshe Run. It's a rather blatant homage, but these sorts of reinterpreted designs are quickly becoming commonplace in the world of high end kicks.
It's also worth noting that Givenchy's creative director, Riccardo Tisci, has previously collab'ed with Nike on its Air Force 1 so it's interesting to see how this will play out.
