New Balance Is Bringing Back an O.G. "Made in USA" Runner

New Balance is reissuing the 1300JP2 runner.

New Balance 1300JP2 Reissue

New Balance is no stranger to reviving gems from its archives, but the return of this 1300 model is a little more special.

The sneaker was first introduced in 1985 to much fanfare because of its position as a superior technical runner with innovative Encap cushioning. But despite its popularity, especially in the Japanese market, New Balance would only go on to release it every five years. The last time we saw this exact 1300 was back in 2010, so you know 'heads are itching for that opportunity to re-up.

The limited-edition 1300 sticks true to its heritage and is part of New Balance's "Made in USA" collection. Handmade in Maine by local craftsmen, the sneaker is produced using domestic materials, resulting in a premium product that speaks to the New Balance tradition. The runner uses high-quality nubuckĀ and mesh to fill its upper and is anchored by a Vibram outsole.

Mark your calendar for March 28 when the sneaker drops in-store at New Balance Experience shops and online at NewBalance.com. These premium 1300s will run you $300.
