The adidas Originals Superstar has played a significant role in the growth of sneaker culture and hip-hop. While the streets of NYC adopted the shell toe sneaker early on in the '80s, it wasn't until Run—D.M.C.'s "My Adidas" track that the rest of the world began to take notice.

To celebrate the influence of the Superstar on NYC's rich street style history, adidas Originals has collaborated with several notable photographers who've captured the sneaker's lore throughout the years for a special exhibition.

The space is located at 138 Wooster Street in SOHO. The space will be open to the public from Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1.

On January 31, internationally renowned photographer Jamel Shabazz will also be on hand to discuss his personal documentation of New York's hip-hop, fashion, and sneaker scene from the '70s. You can RSVP at: OriginalsRSVP@adidas.com.
