When Stephon Marbury's career in the NBA fizzled out, many people considered his days of meaningful basketball were behind him. After a rough finish with the Knicks and Celtics, Marbury had a bit of a mental breakdown. The former all-star had numerous bizarre run in's with the media, but rock bottom came when he posted videos of himself crying and eating vaseline, yes you read that right, vaseline. Looking to make a return to the court, Marbury took a contract to play in China in 2010, and it might of been the best thing that ever happened to him.
Years later, Marbury is once again on top of the basketball world after winning 2 CBA Championships, and he credits his success in China to the culture as he described it as one "filled with love, compassion, and care". Starbury has jumped to new heights in China, but his antics remain as he recently starred in a musical based on his life. Vice Sports recently sat down with Marbury to get a first hand look at the former NBA superstars rise to fame and give a behind the scenes look at his musical.
