Pedro Alvarez may not be a household name, but we're about to school you on why  he should be in the sneaker world. The Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman won the Silver Slugger award last year, hit the most home runs in the National League, and was named to his first All-Star roster.
But his prowess on the diamond isn't why you should be paying attention to Alvarez. It's because his sneaker game is through the roof. Far too often do we see pro athletes with sneaker collections seeded to them by footwear companies and PR reps, but Alvarez's collection goes above and beyond. A brief look at his Instagram account clearly shows his love for older Nike SBs, the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton collection, and even PEs—but not any of his own, we're talking about Air Jordan PEs from NBA greats like Mike Bibby.
