The Shoes That Won Last Night: NCAA Tournament First Round Action

Good news, hoops fans: the wait is finally over. Yesterday, the first round of the NCAA Tournament kicked off in grand fashion, with plenty of thrilling triumphs, heartbreaking upsets, and (more than likely) a fair amount of busted brackets.

For some of the nation's top teams, it was business as usual. Michigan State cruised by Delaware after a monstrous 41 point, 8 rebound showing from Adreian Payne. Things also went well for the Michigan Wolverines, who held 15th-seed Wofford to just 40 points in an easy win as they advanced to the second round against Texas. From Buffalo, New York, the Syracuse Orange dominated Western Michigan on the back of a strong performance from Tyler Ennis (pictured.)

Of course, with such a wide field, there's a high level of unpredictability involved, and yesterday also provided two high-profile upsets. Dayton managed to shock Ohio State 60-59, and they'll head to the round of 32 against Syracuse. And from Spokane, Washington, the Cincinnati Bearcats failed to stop a first half rally from the Harvard Crimson, falling 57-61.

Chances are, you've been paying close attention to the winners of the games, but what about the shoes? Catch a full recap of yesterday's best after the jump and be sure to keep it locked with Sneaker Report for ongoing March Madness coverage.
