Nike loves taking its classics and applying a woven treatment to them. See: the Lunar Flow, the Mayfly, the Footscape, the Free Run+ 2, even the Roshe Run. It looks like the next one to get the weave is the Nike Air Huarache. Instagram user iluvmyweiner (he’s referring to his dachshund “Slinky” – named after the Toy Story character, we must assume) seems to be on the receiving end of many a Huarache sample, and the most recent is woven. A black suede upper is countered with peach and purple neoprene. The vamp gets the weave with black and grey nylon.

Late last year, a pic surfaced on NikeTalk of this sneaker and a few other samples of potential pairs, but that picture has since vanished along with its original source. You can find that picture below. It seems with the tongue tag that iluvmyweiner has to show us, there’s confirmation of a 2014 release for this one at least.

Applying a woven treatment to old school Nike models has gotten historically mixed reactions. What do you think about this one?
