In memory of the tragic passing of 12-year-old Isaac Arzate, a former patient at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Nike and JB will soon be dropping off the Air Jordan V Retro that Isaac himself began working on while spending his time at the facility. The young athlete suffered from a rare heart abnormality that eventually took his life at such an early age.

With Isaac having put his early touches on the limited edition Js, some additional sketches from Isaac were then utilized to complete the limited edition sneakers. Isaac himself was heavily into sports early on, having played both basketball and baseball, which is why his numbers 9 and 31 are showcased on the Jumpman kicks. His initials as well as date of birth and date of passing have then been applied accordingly, with the shoes being further highlighted by glow-in-the-dark aspects. A touching poem that Isaac penned the day before his death can be seen on the upper, as each pair will then come equipped with a flashlight to complete the glow-in-the-dark detailing.

You can look for the Doernbecher delivery to land at Nike.com as well as through select retailers on September 14, of course in limited numbers. Retail will be $180.
