For most of us, music is a vital part of all of our lives. We're constantly listening to it, whether you’re working out or just riding the train every day, these Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds are great for any occasion.
I put these headphones through some grueling physical tests, before i felt comfortable giving them a strong positive review. For example, I tested them on my train commute in the morning using my droid, then later in the afternoon on my laptop, and the last and most difficult test to pass, the gym. These ear buds passed all categories with flying colors. And at $30, they may just be the best bang for your buck. They fit in your ear so well, and are really comfortable. And if your thinking, “oh buds never stay in my ear”, Skullcandy hooks you up with three different sized rubber bud covers for all the weird ears out there.
Not only are these ear buds comfortable, they're also crystal clear and extremely loud. To give some perspective on the volume, with JVC Gumy's I need my phones volume on max, but with these Skullcandy’s 3/4ths is the sweet spot.
Another positive, the flat wire makes life so much easier. They don’t tangle, so tossing them in your pocket or bag is no issue. The toggle also works great. You can raise or lower the volume no problem, answer your phone calls, play/pause, and have track control. The mic is on point too, no issues with its clarity.The headphones even come with a cool little plastic carrying case. It’s a cool little something extra.
The one negative about these headphones is that you can’t slide a stopper up high enough. When I’m working out, I want the stop to be up more towards my neck more, but the mic/volume toggle doesn’t allow it.
Bottom Line: If you're looking for an inexpensive pair of reliable of ear buds, then the Skullcandy Smokin' Buds are a perfect candidate.
